While Waiting, Try Running

I'm in a period of "waiting" right now.  For a firm response to the resume, a start date, a paycheck, the background checks...and so on--and thus I'm handling this lull in my life by running.  A lot.  Four days a week for an hour, plus two days biking, and Rip 60 training afterwards.

Sadly, I'm still not very fast.

In running I've started to discover things about my city/neighborhood that I didn't know.  Even though I grew up here.   For example, Fort Hunt Park? Has a series of dirt running trails, perfect for me to get muddy on.   The Mount Vernon Trail is a good place to hit the hills if you're going towards the estate, and Georgetown University's cross country team hits the Potomac Heritage Trail on weekday mornings.    Try not to push the skinny ones into the river.   Though it's tempting.

While it's not resolving the "oh shit, where is my life heading...money....school...what if I don't make it...." concerns that are going on in my life--it is helping me stay calm while dealing with it.   Plus, if nothing else, as I go into my next interview...I'll have some killer calf muscles to make my legs look better in heels.
